If you buy, sell, or develop real estate, Buckley LeChevallier is your turnkey solution for commercial and residential real estate issues. Our interdisciplinary team helps developers, investors, financial institutions, brokers, property managers, contractors, and property owners structure and document all types of real estate transactions.
The organizational structure of a real estate transaction can dramatically affect taxation and personal liability. Our attorneys will help you choose the best form of organization for your particular project: corporation, limited partnership, business trust, joint venture, limited liability company, or limited liability partnership. Our goal is to minimize personal risk and tax consequences while maintaining a flexible operating environment.
For developers, Buckley LeChevallier can assist with all phases of a project: assessment, acquisition, financing, permitting, conveyancing, and leasing. This means no more shopping for the right expert or hunting for a good referral. Our extensive network of financial, environmental, and real estate professionals puts all the resources you need in one place, ready to work for you.
In addition to preparing and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, and assisting parties with Section 1031 exchanges, our real estate attorneys also have experience in the complex world of land use and environmental regulation. We assist property owners seeking relief under Measure 49 and we also represent clients before regulatory agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.

Lenders can now usually expect a five percent (5%) or higher return on their investment that is secured by a first trust deed on real estate.
Conservation Easements- Protecting Our Land
The conservation easement is a legally binding agreement that permanently restricts the development and future use of the land to ensure protection of its conservation values. The goal is to preserve natural resources and maintain air and water quality standards in conjunction with regulation, land acquisition and tax policies.
